#CIG – Catalisi in Gioco 2025 3rd place award

🔬 Last week Luca Nespoli, PhD student in Chemistry (38° cycle), participated in the second edition of #CIG – Catalisi in Gioco 2025, a national competition supported by Società Chimica Italiana – Gruppo Interdivisionale di Catalisi.

Teams of PhD students and postdocs from all over Italy challenged each other in the development of innovative projects in #catalysis. Together with his teammates, Luca developed an exciting project combining robust #inorganic #catalysts with #biocatalysis to capture and valorize CO₂ as methane and CaCO₃.

The project was highly appreciated by the committee and awarded #thirdplace in the competition! 🥉
A rewarding way to close his PhD journey.

A special thanks goes to the organizing committee, and in particular to Emilia Paone, for hosting the event at Università degli Studi “Mediterranea” di Reggio Calabria.
